GBTI on Friday, June 17th launched its “Drive Home” campaign, creating an avenue for easier homeownership and financing for existing and potential customers.
The event was launched at the bank’s Water Street location and will culminate in 5 weeks at the International Building Expo on July 24th at the Providence National Stadium.
Business Development Manager, Rawattie Mohandeo said the bank developed the campaign as the bank realizes the importance of homeownership.
“As an individual, homeownership is the single largest investment that you can make and by doing that, it allows you the opportunity to make wise financial decisions”, she said.
The campaign targets existing mortgage customers who are desirous of extending their home, having a second mortgage, persons with mortgages at other banks and persons who wish to switch for GBTI lower rates, first time homeowners looking for financing to buy or build their move in ready home.
One lucky customer who has their loan approved or pre-approved on or before July 24th will drive home with a brand-new Toyota SUV. GBTI promises same day pre-approval and quick turnaround time in order to ensure maximum participation in the campaign.
Permanent Secretary of the Housing and Water Ministry, Andre Ally lauded the campaign and the lower rates, noting that such efforts foster homeownership and contribute to affordable housing solutions for all Guyanese.
“It is a good time to be a Guyanese living in Guyana. The world is coming out of a pandemic and while a majority of countries around the world are in a steep economic decline, we in Guyana, are fortunate to have one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. We are seeing banks across the world increasing interest rates and now in Guyana, we have banks like GBTI that are decreasing the rates,” the PS outlined.
Customers are encouraged to apply at any GBTI branch, online at www.gbtibank.com or at the International Building Expo July 22-24.
