A diversely experienced hospitality professional, Kathryn Eytle McLean has held managerial and executive positions at hotels and travel companies in North and South America. Her career began at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, where she served as assistant to the general manager and front desk manager. A management trainee, she traveled overseas for several externships at hotels in Europe, including the Excelsior Hotel in London, the Berestede Hotel in Ascot, England, and the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam. During this time, Kathryn McLean completed training rotations in seven different hotel departments, honing her skills in each.  

After relocating to Ontario, Canada, Ms. McLean managed a branch of Budget Car Rental in Toronto. She earned the title of Employee of the Year during her third year with the company. Ms. McLean eventually returned to the hotel business as a human resources manager and manager on duty with Holiday Inn in Mississauga. Over the course of three years, she also worked as the front desk representative. To ensure the safety of her guests and workers, she obtained certification as a health and safety representative from the Ontario Service Alliance. Additionally, she trained in payroll administration with Ceridian.

Ms. McLean transitioned to a new role within the hospitality industry by joining the board of directors of Frandec Travel Services, Inc./Frandec and Co. She is currently the CEO of the Georgetown-based company as well. Ms. McLean is also active in the Guyanese business sector through her positions on the boards of directors of H&F Inc. and the Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. (GBTI). In addition, she is a member of the Hospitality Association of Guyana. She previously served on the board of directors of the Guyana Tourism Authority and as vice president of the Guyana Association of Travel Agents.

For the last several years, Kathryn Eytle McLean has additionally owned a franchise of Cruise Planners. Acting as a travel advisor, she leverages her tourism industry experience to help her clients plan vacations and cruises around the world.
