Security Officer
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure security of premises, assets, and personnel.
- Patrol entire premises at required schedule/shift.
- Monitor surveillance equipment.
- Monitor and permit access and exit to premises.
- Promptly report any irregularities and unusual activity to Lead – Security.
- Assess customers entering and exiting banking halls.
- Arm and disarm building at specified times or as directed by Senior Management.
- Inspect chute area to ensure it is adequately secured.
- Make diary entries of general observation and unusual occurrences.
- Inspect assets and authorize security asset movement forms for movement of assets between branches and to external contractors.
- Consistently provide quality customer experience throughout all customer interactions.
- Greet customers on entry to premises.
- Assist with orderly arrangement of customers in the banking hall.
- Assist customers to use Automated Teller Machines after working hours.
- Perform small maintenance activities and inspections at branches.
- Perform daily checks on the generator for coolant, oil, fuel, and conduct test runs.
- Inspect compounds to ensure tidiness.
- Wash the bank compound when assigned.
- Conduct general inspection of pumps, air conditioning units, security lights, water tanks, and bank vehicles daily.
- Report any maintenance observations to Lead – Security and document them in the security report.
- Undertake all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of Secondary Education
- Minimum experience of two (2) years in the security field
