Investment Officer
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Investment Officer is responsible for supporting the administration and monitoring of the Bank’s investment portfolio through the accurate processing of investment transactions, maintenance of investment records and schedules, preparation of reports, and provision of analytical support. The incumbent also provides support for treasury operations, payroll processing, and regulatory reporting activities to support efficient operations and effective internal controls.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investment Administration
- Process investment transactions, including purchases, sales, rollovers, repayments of principal and interest, and other related entries for foreign, local, and short-term investments.
- Maintain investment schedules, portfolio records, and related reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness and agreement with the Trial Balance.
- Process principal and interest transactions and maintain schedules relating to overseas loans for GBTI and its subsidiary.
- Prepare monthly accruals relating to investments and overseas loans and process investment advisor fees and related payments.
- Monitor investments without an active secondary market and maintain supporting records and documentation.
- Investment Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare daily market reports and investment pricing reports for submission to Enterprise Risk Management. ▪ Prepare weekly and monthly investment reports and supporting schedules relating to foreign, local, overseas, and short-term investments.
- Prepare analyses of investment performance, holdings, and budget requirements to support Management reporting and the preparation of reports for Executive Management, ALCO, and the Board of Directors.
- Assist in the preparation of investment proposals and related risk analyses for Board and Management consideration.
- Prepare semi-annual reports and supporting schedules for IFRS 9 calculations and Value at Risk (VaR) reporting requirements.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all investment reports, analyses, and supporting documentation.
- Branch Income Allocation
- Prepare worksheets, schedules, and journal entries for the allocation and distribution of investment income to branches.
- Calculate branch allocations based on net deposits and allocate related expenses based on asset levels in accordance with established methodologies.
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of branch investment income allocations and supporting documentation.
- Treasury and Payroll Support
- Provide support for payroll processing and other treasury-related activities.
- Provide support for the preparation of statutory and regulatory reports.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support audit activities and maintain accurate records.
- Report unusual or suspicious transactions in accordance with established procedures.
- Process Improvement and Team Support
- Support the enhancement of treasury processes and procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Provide support to team members as required.
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in accounting, treasury operations, investments, or a related field.
- Experience within the banking or financial services industry will be considered an asset.
Desirable Qualifications
- Progress towards a professional qualification or specialized training in accounting, finance, or investments will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of investment administration, treasury operations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
